Repairs and service calls
It quit, it's making a noise, it's blowing warm. We come find out why — 24/7 when it's heat or air.
- Any brand
- Nights and weekends
- Diagnosed before quoted
Repairs, change-outs and new installs. Gas lines, water heaters and fireplaces. Walk-in coolers and kegerators on the commercial side.
Joshua and one technician, and that's the whole company. Whoever quotes your job is the one who turns up to do it.
You hear the number before the work starts, not when the invoice lands.
If a fix will hold, we'll fix it. If you'd be spending good money on a system that's finished, we'll say so.
Not a franchise routing you through a call center three counties over.
Heating, cooling, gas and hot water — handled start to finish. No subbing it out, no handing you off to somebody else's crew.
It quit, it's making a noise, it's blowing warm. We come find out why — 24/7 when it's heat or air.
Change-outsOld unit out, new one in — sized to the house, not to whatever was there before.
Ask about itNew builds, additions, shops, and houses adding central air for the first time.
Ask about itSeasonal service, or an agreement that keeps it on the calendar so you don't have to think about it.
Ask about itInstallation, plus the yearly service that keeps it lighting on the first cold night.
Ask about itIf you run a restaurant, a bar, a taproom or a store, the box that keeps your product cold is not something that can wait until Monday.
Install, service and repair — including the slow temperature drift that spoils stock before anybody notices it's happening.
Cooling, lines and controls, so what comes out of the tap is the temperature it's supposed to be.
Working out why a box won't hold temperature, so the fix lasts past the weekend.
Tell Joshua what it's doing and where you are. A photo of the unit and its model number speeds things up more than you'd think.
He works out what's actually wrong before quoting anything — and if it isn't worth fixing, he'll tell you that instead of selling you a repair.
The number comes before the work, not after. Then it gets done and hauled off clean.
A good share of what gets called in turns out to be a filter, a breaker or a thermostat battery. Pick what's happening and we'll tell you straight what it usually means, what's worth checking yourself, and when it's time to pick up the phone.
The system is moving air but not removing heat from it. Most often that's low refrigerant from a leak, a dirty or iced-over coil, or a failed capacitor on the outdoor unit.
If there's ice anywhere, switch the system to OFF and the fan to ON to thaw it, then call. Running it iced up can wreck the compressor.
Call 910-705-7427Usually power, not the equipment. A tripped breaker, a blown low-voltage fuse, a float switch that shut things down because the drain backed up, or a dead thermostat battery.
If a breaker trips again right after you reset it, stop resetting it and call. Something is drawing current it shouldn't.
Call 910-705-7427Airflow restriction. Clogged filter, a coil packed with dust, a failing blower motor, or ductwork that's come loose or crushed somewhere you can't see.
New filter and it's still weak? That's a service call. Starving a blower shortens its life.
Call 910-705-7427The condensate drain is blocked. Air conditioning pulls gallons of water out of the air on a humid Carolina day, and it all has to go somewhere.
Call before it gets into the ceiling. A clogged drain line is a cheap fix; a stained ceiling is not.
Call 910-705-7427On gas, usually ignition — a dirty flame sensor, a failed igniter, or a pilot that's out. On a heat pump, it may be stuck in defrost or the backup heat isn't kicking in.
No heat is a 24/7 call here. If it tries to light and quits, or cycles on and off fast, phone rather than keep resetting it.
Call 910-705-7427Could be a door seal, a frosted evaporator, a dirty condenser, a failing compressor, or a defrost cycle that isn't clearing. On a kegerator it's more often line temperature or a controls fault.
Call early. A box that's drifting is a lot cheaper to fix than a box that's failed with product sitting in it.
Call 910-705-7427Treat any gas smell as a leak until somebody proves otherwise. This is the one thing on this page that is not a wait-and-see.
From outside, call 911 or your gas utility's emergency line first. Call us after they've made it safe — we'll handle the repair.
Call 910-705-7427General guidance, not a diagnosis of your system. When in doubt, call — asking costs nothing.Full write-ups on each of these

J & T Services is Joshua Ellis and one technician. That's the whole company.
Which means you're dealing with the people who actually do the work. Nothing gets lost between an office and a truck, nobody turns up on commission trying to sell you equipment you don't need, and the man who quoted the job is the one standing behind it.
Started in 2019, working out of Benson across Johnston, Harnett, Sampson, Wayne, Cumberland & Wake counties. Heating and cooling, gas lines, water heaters, fireplaces, and the commercial refrigeration side — walk-in coolers and kegerators.
Home ground is Benson and the towns around it. We also run out to Raleigh, Fayetteville and Goldsboro. If your town isn't listed, call anyway — it's usually still a yes.
If yours isn't here, call and ask. Joshua would rather talk it through than have you guessing.
Call 910-705-7427For no heat and no cool, yes. Anything that can wait, ring during the day and we'll find you a slot.
Estimates on system replacements are free. For a repair or service call, ask when you ring and you'll get the number up front, before anybody drives anywhere. We don't offer financing at the moment, so at least you'll know the figure before you have to work out how to cover it.
Depends on the age of the system, what failed, and what the repair costs against a new one. As a rough rule, once a repair gets past about a third of replacement cost on a system over ten years old, replacing usually wins. That's a rule of thumb, not an answer — we'll look at yours and tell you which way it actually falls, and the replacement estimate costs you nothing.
We're a Goodman dealer, so that's what we fit most often and what we can price best. If you want something else — Trane, Rheem, Carrier, whatever — we can source it. Tell us what you're after.
60 days on our labor. Equipment carries its own manufacturer warranty on top, which varies by brand and by whether it gets registered — we'll walk you through that at install.
Yes, and it helps. A picture of the unit's data plate with the brand and model number saves real time and sometimes saves a trip.
Yes — walk-in coolers and freezers, and kegerator and draft systems, for restaurants, bars, taprooms and stores. It's the other half of what the LLC is named for.
Once a year at minimum, twice is better in this climate — cooling in the spring, heating in the fall. Filters every one to three months depending on the filter and whether you've got pets.
Benson and the towns around it are home ground, and we run out to Raleigh, Garner, Lillington, Fayetteville and Goldsboro too. If your town isn't listed, call and ask.
Call or text. If Joshua's under a house he'll ring you back as soon as he's out from under it.
